In case you don't want to post entire teams in the RMT, but happen to have good individual sets, go ahead and throw them up here.

This is similar to the NU Analysis Workshop, except that this thread is open to more gimmicky sets should you wish to put them out there for people to play with, whereas the NU Analysis page is more for sets proven to work well and consistently through testing.

I'll start us off.

The tier list has been updated based on the newest usage data for UU.

Here are the significant changes:

We lost Qwilfish, Linoone, Magneton, Rhydon, Manetric, Zangoose, Gorebyss, Bibarel, Sandslash, Persian, Cacturne, and Lopunny.

We gained Ampharos, Regice, Rapidash, Walrein, Gastrodon, Cradily, Pinsir, and Camerupt.

Feel free to discuss the changes here =).

Many of the losses shouldn't be surprising considering that the New UU metagame is maturing and many old UU Pokemon ...

There they are. I had to do them a bit differently because of the small amount of logs, but the OU list should at least be quite accurate.

Feel free to discuss the stats here. The new tier list will be out some time this week =).

My first attempt at posting this thread ended in failure when the server went down for a minute, so I'll keep this short >_>.

Based on usage, Smogon has released an NU list. They haven't said anything about testing yet, but I'm sure it's safe to assume that there will eventually be a ladder.

Thoughts?

Based on the list, it almost seems like they need another tier below NU, haha.

Also, I just wanted to say that I WON'T be ending ...

Because of the way I organized data for March, it would be nearly impossible for me to go back and tier every Pokemon based on popularity. So instead I'm just going to release the top fifteen for this month.

The list that follows contains the most popular Pokemon, rather than the most used. Instead of just taking general usage into account, the amount of people who used the Pokemon and how many teams it was on is also considered.

What does all of this mean? Well, if my formula isn't ...

As everyone knows, I release general usage statistics for NU every month and tier the Pokemon used based on the data. While I'm going to continue to tier Pokemon (and ban/allow them) based on these usage statistics, today I came up with another idea.

They're called "Popularity Statistics". I would release these alongside the usage stats and they would be simply for fun and analysis of the metagame. The "Popularity" of a Pokemon is determined mostly by two factors--how ...

NU Hail Teams

With the addition of Snover, hail teams have become a viable strategy in NU. Although we no longer have Walrein, other NU Pokemon undoubtedly benefit from the hail. I've listed a few benefits that hail teams share:

-No Shedinja problems. With Shedinja everywhere, teams can't afford to mess around with it. Hail instantly OHKO's, essentially causing your opponent to play with five Pokemon should they fail to change the weather.

-No worries about Focus Sashes. In NU, just one turn of set-up ...

I've had various levels of success with my own teams. Some have done very well; others kinda...failed :p. I've been trying to be experimental in order to test as many Pokemon as possible.

My favorite new NUs are Dragonair, Entei, Gorebyss (ok, ok, I just always liked it, haha), Venomoth, Magneton, ...

Everyone knows that certain NFEs are definitely viable. There are a handful of them that are usually considered good enough to use in their un-evolved state and they are as follows: Pikachu, Clamperl, Haunter, Kadabra, Rhydon, Dusclops, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magneton, Gligar, and Sneasel.

Obviously, I'm not including ones banned from NU such as Chansey.

But what about those that haven't been brought up until now because of the previous ban on NFEs?

For those of you who haven't checked out the new tier list yet, it now includes Persian. It would seem that this addition has sealed Purugly's fate--Persian is the new Purugly.

Now the question is: Will we see Persian leads everywhere?

The original Purugly lead set was Fake Out/Taunt/Hypnosis/U-Turn with Return sometimes going over U-Turn.

Persian can run the same exact set but with even better stats. In fact, Persian is now the fastest Pokemon in our tier!

The other question ...
