Chatbox

I was thinking of adding a chatbox for people to find NU battles. That would be it's only purpose; not just for chatting (if you want casual chatting, use Shuten's).

Good idea? Bad idea? Let me know what you guys think.

I /do/ think that a chatbox greatly facilitates NU battling, since you can find opponents real-time (as opposed to posting and waiting for a response and a time window).

However, it might arguably be a bit hard to police the box...

Especially with Tobi here o_0

Eh, most of the time I'm home, I'm online anyway. I can lurk on the chatbox.

That was a concern of mine. However, I'm hoping that if we're really mean strict it'll work out. After all, if people just want to chat, they can go to Shuten.

Chatbox is now up, but remember guys, it's strictly for NU discussion and battle requests. Not chitchat, use Shuten's for that.

The chatbox is more practical to immediately find battles than trying to schedule shit through PMs. Then, you have to deal with timezones and such, whereas if you just get on the chat, SOMEONE's gotta be there willing to give you a match.

PM's lead to easy scheduling, a chatbox will lead to people hoping others are on, which, considering our current size, isn't always likely.

Also, without constant policing, a c-box will eventually get spammed, leading to eventual punishments, and looking like overly strict freaks.

It'll be constantly policed, believe me. I'll be going through archives as well and banning anyone who breaks rules. Our CBox will be more strict than Shuten's, because, well, it has to be.

I meant constant on-the-spot policing, you know ,the threat there so the spam doesn't happen.

I know how to run a forum, so just leave it to me. If things get out of hand for some reason, I can simply get rid of the Chatbox. It's really not that difficult.

Anyways, since we have one up now, I might as well lock this topic.
