Trends
"New NU" has been going on for over a week now, so I figured I'd check in with everyone. How are your teams doing? Favorite new NU? Any trends you've noticed? Problematic Pokemon?
I've had various levels of success with my own teams. Some have done very well; others kinda...failed :p. I've been trying to be experimental in order to test as many Pokemon as possible.
My favorite new NUs are Dragonair, Entei, Gorebyss (ok, ok, I just always liked it, haha), Venomoth, Magneton, and...Snover. Yes, Snover. He's actually kinda good o_0;. On a hail team, of course :p. I haven't tried Magnetric yet but I want to; it looks good.
Even with all the new NUs, though, I've been using some of our older ones as well. Sandslash, Mightyena, and Butterfree still rock. I realize that I'm probably alone in my love of Mightyena, but hey, whatever works. To me, it's a nice anti-lead with QuickFeet (immunity to status), Taunt, Pursuit, and Sucker Punch. Try it some time, you won't be disappointed (unless you play weirdly).
I can't say I've noticed many trends yet, although every team I've faced has been more on the offensive side (I haven't even seen one stall team besides my own). I'm seeing a lot of diversity which is neat. Although, statistically, some Pokemon are already becoming more popular (if anyone's interested in current stats, let me know).
I haven't found any Pokemon to be "broken" yet, although there are a few I'm keeping my eye on. I won't mention them by name unless I find real evidence to support possible banishment, however.
Ok, guys, now it's your turn. Let me know how it's going! Even if you've only had a few battles, humor me at least :p.

Re: Trends
Magneton's not NU.
Venomoth rapes.
Lickilicky's consistently too strong.

It would be helpful if you elaborated ^^;.
Re: Trends
Well, Magneton's not on the NU list... MagneMITE is, but not Magneton. Mistake on your part, maybe? I was surprised not to see it there, actually, so it might've just been a mistake.Sasami wrote:Shine wrote:Magneton's not NU.

Venomoth has respectable Spd, and it can shut down a Pokemon easily enough with Sleep Powder, allowing it time to set up a Sub or an Agility to BP over to something else- besides that, Tinted Lens with STAB'd Bug Buzz and nice Sp.Atk is cruel.
Pretty much anytime Prosti runs a Lickilicky, that happens to be what rapes me. It took a STAB'd Close Combat from a Naive Monferno with max Atk investment. That says something.

Re: Trends
Teehee.
Lickylicky can take a beating, but... it's actually more Bulky than Dusknoir technically, so it's not surprising.
Jynx is really nice in this tier, but wishes it had more Defence. Lol
Venemoth with only Bug Buzz is asking to see Soundproofers.
XD

Oops, sorry, added it. Let me know if you spot any other errors.
Venomoth is indeed an excellent Baton Passer, I've been using it for the same role.
I've only fought Lickilicky once and it is quite strong. I think that next time I'll be better prepared, though =).
Re: Trends
You never know with Lickylicky!
Considering its movepool. It is sad it doesn't get Slack Off, though.

If Snorlax doesn't get Slack Off, Lickilicky better never get it :p.
Anyways, what has everyone been doing about the ugly pink thing? (sorry, I seriously hate it's design, haha) Counters? Good revenge killers?
Re: Trends
Taunt counters the swords dance set well enough, especially if there's a Ghost type to wall the maybe incoming Explosion.Sasami wrote:Prostiboots wrote:You never know with Lickylicky!

Hitmonchan could OHKO with Close Combat easily, assuming no Curse.
There's not much to wall Lickylicky, especially considering it can mix.
